- Using cold water and a gentle detergent
- If using a machine, place the item in a mesh laundry bag and select the delicate cycle
- Avoid fabric softeners and bleach – these can damage the fibres and dull the sheen
- Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Gently dab, do not rub as rubbing may leave marks or pull the weave
- Do not wring or twist the fabric.
- Lay flat on a towel or hang to air dry in a shaded area.
- Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause fading or yellowing
- Iron inside-out on low heat with a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric.
- Steaming is preferred to remove wrinkles safely
- Store satin garments on padded hangers to avoid shoulder marks
